Because of the global situation, I am disabling distribution of new PADLS tot5 workunits in an attempt to divert the compute attention to Folding@Home.

Are you stopping the PADLS TOTAL subproject?
I'm sorry!
I am leaving the TBEG project because it got boring here.

Dear project participants!
If you want to help me in finding ODLS, please join my manual project.
Email natalimak1@yandex.ru

Health to all! Be careful and alert.

Folding @ Home has some work studying COVID19. The admin specifically pointed that out and you go and try to steal BOINC crunchers for your own benefit. F'in low. Detaching odls and latinsquares from all of my PCs.

I finally reached my goal of 1mil credits within the past week and now they go up? :( Keeping credit low will stifle interest if you wish to keep the users low.

The project gives lower credit than credit new. I've never had to run a project over 50k hours to reach the 1mil goal. 3/4 of that 1mil was done on modern Zen CPUs. Just as a reference.

My pending is clear now.

Are the completed tasks still being purged? I noticed it went from 10k to 5k and now back to 6k. Keeping many tasks just puts extra load on the server.

It seems to be happening quite often. Every other day or so i'll find my PCs unable to upload. Some time later I have new tasks.

There is a significant difference between ODLS and prime numbers: the ODLS set is finite, and the set of prime numbers is infinite.

ODLK and ODLK1 BOINC projects search for ODLS of order 10.
The ODLK1 project is a branch of the ODLK project.
In these projects is a very slow search. New experiments in these projects are not launched.

I want to use more efficient algorithms developed by me.
We are trying to do this in the Tomáš Brada BOINC project.

The only comparison Mumps was making between ODLK and Prime were the # of BOINC projects. He was not comparing the math, their goals, numbers or anything of the sort.

Until this morning, the project was considered Beta. Listing a beta project on the BOINC website and thusly in the clients might not be best.

This is already clear from the message
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=13004&postid=91956#91956

Let's wait when the project leaves the test mode.

No matter what, it's still up to the admin to get it added. IF they wish.

I'd be fine with doubling the length. Small units can stress server I/O.

No errors in the latest batch in Linux or Windows.

It took 30 secs all together to crash the tasks. Not worth the hassle to cancel them. We will catch the failures at post processing.
If they crash immediately, let the tasks crash.
If they take more than 2 minutes to crash, Please report.

Maybe its not worth it for us to run your project then.

Sorry. The erroring tasks take only few seconds to finish, right? So very little cpu is wasted. It is not easy to gather wu ids to cancel. Even the failure is a result. Maybe we will grant some credit for the failed tasks if that is what you want.

We identified the reason why they fail so now it is OK to let the errored tasks crash since they use very little cpu.

I cancelled tasks with 7 and 8 at start as soon as the problem was found. Then I received a list of tasks to resurrect, but it seems I made a mistake, or the list was wrong and resurrected tasks that still crash. We will let this batch (12) finish and then figure out which rows are missing and re-issue good tasks.
The batch 10 is finished and most likely we will have more tasks to send after it is analysed by miss Makarova.

Several seconds for the hundreds/thousands of tasks among all the users. If BOINC mgr decides to interrupt another task to run these for those few seconds much more time could be lost than what was spent on your tasks.

"max # of error/total/success tasks 3, 10, 6" Error limit of 3 yet these were sent out 4-5 times. I would have suggested to just lower the allowed error rate so they would not be sent out again. 1 setting but I'm not sure that even works here.

Sure it may still be beta but no user wants a reply to just deal with it when it could be fixed.

Poor help when not using default Linux packages

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add this at the end:

deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu cosmic main

sudo apt-get install libncursesw6
sudo apt-get install libboinc-app7

Still getting libc6 install errors though.
